Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

SCS SB 502 -- CONVEYANCE IN ST. LOUIS COUNTY

SPONSOR:  Gibbons (Portwood)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Corrections and Public Institutions by a vote of 9 to 0.

This substitute authorizes the Governor to convey state property
located in the City of Manchester, in St. Louis County, to the
Manchester United Methodist Church.

The substitute contains an emergency clause.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds in FY 2006, FY 2007, and
FY 2008.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the Department of Mental Health
and the United Methodist Church of Manchester are going to trade
identical pieces of property so that the church can build a
recreational facility.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Portwood; Office of
Administration; and Department of Mental Health.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
